HIIQ | California Major Medical Requirement Question – CHUBB Products

As previously mentioned HIIQ is implementing the below for the state of CA in all Chubb health benefit plans. This has come faster than initially thought do to the below from the carrier. They will be pushing this update live on Monday the 6th. Your agents will see the below question asked when quoting in CA for Cardinal Choice, ConsoliCare, Assurance IQ Choice.

For sales as of May 6th the carrier will audit California sales and will review the applications. If the box is not checked confirming the consumer has credible coverage, the carrier will be doing outreach to confirm the consumer has the required coverage. If they do not, they will have the policies cancelled and refunded.

Please Note: If the answer to the above question is “No,” please do not submit this enrollment form since persons without such comprehensive coverage are not eligible for coverage under a limited supplemental policy.

THIS IS A SUPPLEMENT TO HEALTH INSURANCE AND IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MAJOR MEDICAL COVERAGE.  LACK OF MAJOR MEDICAL COVERAGE (OR OTHER MINIMUM ESSENTIAL COVERAGE) MAY RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PAYMENT WITH YOUR TAXES.

Do you and all other individuals enrolling for coverage under the policy  have comprehensive health  benefits from an individual or group health insurance policy or an HMO or employer plan providing for  essential coverage? Yes  No
