Important Information About Individual Medical Plans
Humana will be sending out individual medical product discontinuance notices to impacted members for some products starting on Thursday, September 22nd to meet the 90-day advance notice requirements. The notices make clear that their coverage remains active through December 31st, 2016 (provided that monthly payments are made) and provides guidance on options for learning about alternative coverage for 2017. Humana values their business relationship. They made the difficult decision to modify their 2017 individual medical coverage offerings to retain a viable product for individual consumers longer term, where feasible, and address persistent risk selection challenges they, and others, are facing across this line of business. They will get back to you over the coming weeks with more information about their 2017 individual medical plan offering.

If you have individual medical plan members, you can find out if members in your book of business are impacted and view the actual notification letter that the member received by logging in to Vantage through Humana.com. Access your Agent Workbench (AWB) – Renewals tab from the Business Center card, sort on the “Latest Correspondence” column, and click on the “Renewal Communications” link to see the renewal communications sent to your members.
